Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how LifestyleSeeker (“we”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data, and the choices you have. We designed the Service with data-protection-by-design in mind, and we minimize the sensitive data we hold.

1. Information we collect

• Account data: your name, email, and password (stored only as a secure hash — never in plain text).
• Profile data: details you choose to share, such as display name, birthdate (used to derive your age), city, photos, and lifestyle preferences.
• Verification data: age and identity verification is handled by a third-party provider. We store only a reference to the verification result, not your raw government ID.
• Usage & device data: log data such as IP address, approximate location, and activity needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
• Payment data: processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.

2. Sensitive data

Information about your relationship preferences and who you are seeking can reveal data that some laws treat as special category (for example, data concerning your sex life or sexual orientation). We collect this only to operate matching and discovery, we minimize it, and we apply additional safeguards. You can edit or remove much of it at any time.

3. How we use your data

• to create and operate your account and profile;
• to power discovery, interest, and messaging features;
• to verify age and identity and to keep the platform safe;
• to detect and prevent fraud, solicitation, abuse, and other prohibited conduct;
• to process memberships and payments;
• to comply with legal obligations.

4. How we share data

We share data with service providers who help us run the Service (hosting, payment processing, identity verification, email/SMS, content moderation), each under contractual confidentiality and security obligations. We may disclose data to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect users. We do not sell your personal data.

5. Your rights & controls

Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We provide self-serve tools for the most common requests:

• Export your data: download a copy of your account, profile, photos, and activity from account settings.
• Delete your account: permanently delete your account and associated data from account settings. Deletion cascades across your profile, photos, messages, and related records, and we request purge of your stored files. Some records may be retained where the law requires it (for example, a legal hold or financial recordkeeping).

6. Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then delete or anonymize it, except where a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, rate limiting, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.

8. International transfers

We may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

9. Children

The Service is strictly for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we report and act on child sexual abuse material as required by law.
